Derby Day – A Day at the Races
St David’s Day Centre’s
Derby Day
Everyone was given an envelope containing toy money to allow them to bet on the horse which they thought would win. Bucks Fizz and fancy nibbles were handed round and then the races began – we had prizes for the winners of the races and for best dressed – everyone thoroughly enjoyed this, with lots of enthusiasm for the racing horses, we also had a horse racing related quiz.
Christmas Party
The Christmas party was once again held at Woodburn Miners Club on Saturday 13 December, a great time was had by all. We had a three course lunch and entertainment provided by David Vernon. Thank you to all our Volunteers who helped to make this day a great success.
Halloween Parties
We had a week of Halloween parties – everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves with our Service Users and Volunteers getting into the spirit of things and dressing up in some scary costumes. We had dookin, catch the donut, Halloween bingo & quiz and feely boxes where we had to guess what horrors were inside – yuck!. Thank you to everyone who made the effort to dress up, it was a really good fun week.
Newtongrange Star Charity
We are delighted to have been chosen as Newtongrange Star’s adopted charity for 2014 and we look forward to working with everyone at the Star.
